The conference brought together paper and fibre-based packaging professionals who are keen to advance sustainable packaging solutions, discuss new ideas and opportunities and network with high-level players from across the supply chain.

Apart from an EMPPA exhibition table, the event featured a whole range of presentations from industry experts including our members WEPA, SEM Ecopack and Papacks. 

While Tahsin Dag from Papacks presented a success story about small-scale prototypes and industry-scale production of hollow shapes made of moulded pulp, Serhiy Rudkovsky from SEM Ecopack shared the results of a comparative analysis of moulded fibre packaging on supermarket shelves in several European countries, highlighting key market trends, the impact of legislative changes and opportunities for further growth of the industry. In his presentation titled „Circularity and food safety are a great match“, Johannes Klumpp, Director Refined Fibres Business & B2B at WEPA, illustrated how recycled fibres and food safety are compatible in defined applications. 

Due to the high quality of content, number of attendees and excellent networking opportunities, the conference turned out to be a great success.
