Boosting the market for moulded pulp

After years of negotiations between industry and EU law makers, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) has been finalized. It creates a much welcome tailwind for the moulded pulp industry and its customers to replace single-use plastic packaging by products made of agricultural secondary resources and recycled paper and cardboard. It provides legal planning security for companies and investors to move away from plastic to truly sustainable packaging formats.

The French EPS-ban in 2025 shows that replacing this toxic material by alternatives like moulded pulp would be feasible at short-term in other European countries as well.
